A gift voucher
for someone in Haarlem
who already has everything
A voucher for 9 game rooms in Beverwijk. Indoors, active, and the weather doesn't get a say.
- 17 min direct train Haarlem - Beverwijk
- 9 game rooms to divide between you
- Free parking right outside the door
A present you don't have to unwrap
You're looking for a gift voucher for someone in Haarlem and you end up at a game park in Beverwijk. That isn't around the corner: allow about twenty minutes by car, or seventeen minutes by train.
What you're giving away is an afternoon in 9 game rooms. Light-up floors that react to your feet, walls covered in buttons, challenges you only crack together. No screen, no controller: you're on your feet the whole time.
One more thing, or an afternoon
Haarlem has been voted the best shopping city in the Netherlands three times over. Handy when you're after something you can hold, less handy when the recipient's cupboards are already full.
For a ten-year-old or a thirteen-year-old, one more thing is usually the worst present of all. A voucher offers something else: not a parcel, but a date in the diary.
What's inside that voucher
The weather doesn't get a say
Everything is indoors. Rain or a hard frost changes nothing about the plan.
Nobody sits still
No cabinet to settle down behind. Running, pressing, dodging, puzzling things out together. They're worn out afterwards, and that's the idea.
The wristband keeps count
Everyone gets a band that tracks the scores. Who won is settled, so there's nothing left to argue about on the way home.
Free, right outside the door
In central Haarlem you're used to paying to park. Here the car sits free of charge right by the entrance.
Being honest about those twenty minutes
From the Grote Markt you take the A200 to the A9 and then the A22 towards Beverwijk, roughly 17 kilometres. The N208 through Santpoort and Driehuis is shorter, but no quicker. The Velsertunnel is the bottleneck, so don't plan it down to the minute.
By train, nobody has to drive. Haarlem is the start of the Kennemerlijn and the train to Beverwijk runs every half hour, with no changes, in about 17 minutes. From the station it's an 8-minute walk. For thirteen- and fourteen-year-olds that means no parent needed as the driver.
Who this present works for
As a guide to the amount: a kids' party costs €24.50 per child, for 2 × 30 minutes of play and 2 hours in total, from 5 children. The teen party for twelve- to fourteen-year-olds also starts at €24.50 per player. What else is included is set out on the kids' parties page.
- A child who would rather do something than be given something.
- A birthday at 12, 13 or 14 - too old for the playground, too young for everything else.
- Grandparents who start asking in September what they should give.
- A classmate whose size, taste and games console you have no idea about.
Still sortable on the night itself
The voucher arrives by email. No shop to get to, and it still works if you only remember the evening before the birthday. The recipient picks a date themselves, and can hold it with no obligation before booking for real.
Questions from the people buying one
Twenty minutes' drive for a present - isn't that far?
That's yours to weigh up. One figure that helps: our records hold more customers from Haarlem than from Beverwijk itself. Those twenty minutes turn out not to be an obstacle.
When can the recipient come?
Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00, with 18:00 as the last start time. Friday from 12:00 and Saturday from 10:30, both until 22:00. Sunday from 10:30 to 18:00. The park is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Isn't this just an amusement arcade?
No. The floors and the walls are the game: you do the moving, in a group, against the clock. What there is to do in each room is set out under the game rooms.
Can a big group come along too?
The park holds 70 people at once. For a group, just agree a time with us via contact, especially during the school holidays.
Other towns nearby
Is your group coming from somewhere else? The route and the journey time are set out separately for each town.
Give something that doesn't end up in a cupboard
