From Heemskerk to the Handelskade
By car you're here in about seven minutes. You take the Jan van Kuikweg or the Rijksstraatweg straight into Beverwijk. At the end you park for free by the entrance, so dropping off and picking up is a matter of stepping out of the car.
By train it's one stop. Heemskerk station and Beverwijk station sit next to each other on the Kennemerlijn, with a direct train every half hour. From Beverwijk station you walk to the Handelskade in about eight minutes.
And there's a third option that isn't realistic from any other town around here: by bike. A group of children of ten and up cycles it in just under half an hour, along the Baandert and the Plesmanweg. Saves a queue of cars outside the door.
