Why an Amsterdam team drives out of the city
For drinks or a dinner you don't need to leave Amsterdam. But anyone looking for something active for fifteen or thirty colleagues soon notices: the good places in the city are small, crowded, or both — and you pay Amsterdam prices for them.
PlayKinetix is an indoor game park on the Handelskade in Beverwijk, with 9 game rooms in which you are the controls: floors that respond to your feet, walls full of buttons that light up, challenges that only work if you tackle them together. A wristband keeps score for each player, so at the end there is simply a result on the table.
The journey is part of the outing. Driving out of the city together or taking the train breaks the link with the office — and that is exactly what a team day needs.
What you don't get in the city
Amsterdam has hundreds of meeting rooms and at least as many places for a drink. What the city barely has is space. An activity a whole department can join in at the same time, without having to split the group into three shifts.
Here 70 people can come at once, and with the team deals you have all 9 game rooms at your disposal for an hour and a half. Nobody sits on the bench: you walk, tap, press and chase down the score of the group next to you.
And afterwards there's no taxi hassle or car park at €7.50 an hour — your car is parked free right outside the door.
How to get here from Amsterdam
Beverwijk lies north of the Noordzeekanaal, on the western side. Three ways to get here:
- By car via the A9. From the A10 ring road west, join the A9 at the Raasdorp interchange towards Alkmaar, through the Wijkertunnel, then the Beverwijk exit. From the ring road that's about 25 minutes; from the city centre count on half an hour to 40 minutes, depending on rush hour.
- By car via the A8. Coming from Noord or from the Zuidas via the A10 north? Then the A8 towards Zaandam and on to the A9 is just as quick.
- By train. There is no direct train; via Haarlem or via Uitgeest you change once and reach Beverwijk station in around 40 minutes. From there it's an 8-minute walk.
Coming with more than thirty people? A coach or a row of pool cars parks here just as easily — and free of charge.

What we're honest about
There is no direct train from Amsterdam. One change, via Haarlem or Uitgeest. For a group that's out for drinks that's perfectly doable; if you'd rather play it safe, appoint two drivers or hire a minibus.
On weekday afternoons you share the park with children's parties. So pick a Friday or Saturday evening: you can still start up to 22:00 then, and the crowd is grown-up.
An hour and a half is part of a day, not a full day. Anyone making a whole day of it combines it with a lunch or dinner — in Amsterdam or here nearby.

Is it worth the travel time?
That depends on what you're after. For drinks: no, stay in the city. For something a whole department takes an active part in, with a scoreboard and without Amsterdam venue hire, those 25 minutes are precisely the point: you're genuinely away from it all.

Yes — 70 people can be in the park at once, and from 35 people the Fun Deal works out at €24.50 per person. For large groups we agree the time together.
Can we stay and eat?
A Dutch bar snacks platter or a full sharing board is available here (Game & Bites €39.50, Drinks Deal €49.50). For a full dinner there's a larger package with catering, or you can eat back in the city.
Does everyone need to be able to game?
